I would have thought that Ton Pentre alongside the main road (with precaution) would be alright, although I don't know (I'm not from over that way). But I mean that would only be good if you just wanted distance rather than tricks.

For a good place for tricks and all that jazz, Aberdare is alright. I think its a library, but as you come into Aberdare from Maerdy and go around the one way, there's a flat flagstoned area (perhaps someone here knows where I'm on about and can elaborate)

hey chris, well the library in aberdare has had all fence put around it so its not as skateable as it used to be, as for ton pentre i cant picture where your thinking of, do you mean up by the petrol station? Since i started this topic me Adam and Dowers have found three nice spots one beeing up meardy park on the benches they all have realy nice run ups so you have pleanty of time to prepare we have already skated this spot 2 nights in a row now and we are getting into it now. the other two spots are up pen rhys they are a little harder than the park but they are nice spots the first is a three flight set of starirs with a handrail from top to bottom, theres no bolts because its all welded so its nice and smooth the only problem beeing that we cant quite skate rails that long or high just yet, but there is another just down the road in a little underground walkway its about 25ft long with a little slope just enough to keep you going also its has squared edges and its about 4 to 5 inches thick so it will be great for soul grinds, ill try and get a little map up for anyone interested in checking them out.

If you're feeling a little suicidal, there's always the Rhigos! Hah! Guess I better write here that I don't advise people go do that...

Umm, where else... where else? Just a thought - but what about by Ystrad Sports Centre? There's a bit of a path that leads along to a park or something around there - anyone know what I'm on about?

Right, I have a report due in a few days and I've not started writing yet (nor researching)... guess I'd best get on with it at some point today

If you wanna see me having fallen on my backside, check out the website that I'm trying to keep running just now (it looks a bit pants): www.dusa.co.uk/andrewsmith and click the star at the top (or use the navigation panel on the left) - should be some pictures in there. I thought I was rather graceful on the old Twister mat

id do the rhigos lol my bearings are shot so i wouldnt go that fast anyway. Yeah i have been to ystrad skatepark its not bad it has some nice grind boxes, the transitions take a bit of getting used to because they are a bit steeper than fsp but all in all its a good park.

Oh, I didn't know they had ramps and such over there! Just seem to remember that bit of a path and thought that would be alright if you're not wanting ramps or owt exciting
